Dam that River has things going on under the surface that the average listener may not notice. If you start to learn any part you’ll see it has so many unique and slippery parts to it. For one the phrases in the both the verse and chorus come in 3’s which is unusual but because they are driven by the melody you don’t even notice. Then you have the bridge with the guitar solo which is sneaking in bars of two in uneven patterns. This one took me a lot of listens to get down and there’s still nuances that I am working out. This may not be on everyone’s top 5 as far as Alice in Chains songs go but I really enjoy it’s intricacies.
